Guidelines for Posting

Thebuzz.semissourian.com is a new site dedicated to online information sharing for our area. It provides non-profit organizations and local businesses with an easy-to-use web publishing system.

It is being run by semissourian.com, the online and enterprise of the Southeast Missourian newspaper and other regional newspapers.

Just visit the site, register as a buzz member and you can build your group a web site with:

  • Live updates, anytime you want. And you don't need to know HTML.
  • A searchable events calendar and a group news area.
  • An online guest book so you can e-mail information to members.

This service provides free web pages and calendar listings to all non-profit or non-commercial groups in the Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois region. The website itself, including the searchable events and club news, is free to everyone.

Here's a rundown of how it works:

  1. Fill out our organization sign-up form with your basic group and contact information.
  2. We review and approve your nomination, sending an email message with your URL and password.
  3. Come back to thebuzz.semissourian.com and look up your group's page (by keyword or category).
  4. Click on the "Edit This Page" button on the bottom left of your page.
  5. Type in your password and submit the form.
  6. Select which part of your site you wish to update.
  7. Fill out the forms provided, adding or editing the text as you see fit. You also can submit a logo. For more information, read our graphics guidelines.
  8. Your new information is updated instantly for all the world to see.

Come back as often as you'd like to update and revise information. Frequent updating benefits both current and prospective members.
